Rosanne Tan, ACE: Picture Editor

Throughout the month of May, the Pan Pacific Asian Steering Committee will highlight Asian American members—past and present—celebrating their achievements and contributions.

Raised in Los Angeles, Rosanne Tan, ACE, discovered her love for editing at a young age, using VHS-to-VHS editing to compile all her favorite programs. That spark of passion, clever ingenuity, and genuine curiosity helped focus her inspiration, but it was ultimately her love of storytelling and workaholic nature that built her esteemed career in picture editing. Rosanne is known for her work in a variety of genres, exploring dramatic, visceral worlds and searing action through character and emotion.

Some of her extensive variety of work includes high profile projects such as Lucasfilm’s series “Star Wars: Ahsoka”, Marvel Studios’ series “Hawkeye”, “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”, and USA Network’s critically acclaimed series “Mr. Robot”.

Her outstanding achievements in editing have earned her two ACE Eddie Award nominations in 2020 and 2021 for her incredibly versatile work on “Mr. Robot”. She was also nominated for an ACE Eddie Award and an HPA Award in 2019 for her work on the Amazon series “Homecoming”.

When she’s not editing, Rosanne is passionately giving back to the community that fostered her growth. She is an active member of the American Cinema Editors (ACE) and a mentor in their ACE Diversity Mentorship Program.

First union job: Apprentice Editor (uncredited) on “The Social Network” (2010).
