Eddie Grisby
Lab Film Technician
September 15, 1952 – January 8, 2017

Eddie Grisby was born on September 15, 1952. He lived an unselfish life filled with hard work and kindness. He grew up one of seven children on a cotton farm in rural Alabama, and spent some of his formative years in Pensacola, Florida.

He served his country, going overseas as a US Marine during the Vietnam War. He settled in Rancho Cucamonga, California, where he married and raised his two daughters, and worked for MGM Studios and Deluxe Labs. Throughout his life, he was self-sufficient, providing for himself, his family and others without complaint.

As a young man, Eddie lied about his age to start working early in order to help his mother. As an adult, aside from serving his country, he served as a surrogate father to many family members and to people not even related to him. As a father, he worked 12-hour shifts, commuting up to two hours each way to provide for his daughters and wife, and still made it to his daughters’ games and performances.

He was kind, generous, supportive and always there to listen — a pillar of his family. He approached others with little judgment; he was cool. Each year, he would host a Christmas party and would make sure everyone who attended received a gift. For some, it was the only gift they received that year.

Eddie passed away on January 8, 2017, and was laid to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery on January 30, 2017. He is survived by his wife Connie, his two daughters Meghan and Erin, and his three granddaughters Skylar, Maliyah and Alanah.
