Omega Hsu, ACE: Picture Editor

Throughout the month of May, the Pan Pacific Asian Steering Committee will highlight Asian American members—past and present—celebrating their achievements and contributions.

Omega Hsu is a Prime Time Emmy Award winning editor. She grew up in Hawaii and is of Chinese ancestry. She graduated from UCLA with a BA and MFA degrees in Film and Television.

She currently works on the big budget competition show “The Voice” but has also worked in news, documentaries, and unscripted reality programming. Her editing career began on the groundbreaking CBS show Rescue 911 where she worked for seven years. She received a Gracie Award from American Women in Radio and Television, a Golden Mic Award from the Southern California Radio and TV News Association.

In 2003 and 2004, Omega received Emmy nominations for her work on the PBS/KCET series California Connected. During this time, she became a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild IATSE Local 700.

Her work on “The Voice” garnered her four Prime Time Creative Arts Emmy nominations for Editing (2016, 2018, 2021), winning in 2024. In 2018, she was accepted as a member in the American Cinema Editors, an honorary editing society. With her 30 years of experience she considers one of her proudest achievements is being a member of Local 700 for 15 years.
