Local 700’s Organizing Department has hired Micah Landau, who will be based out of the Guild’s New York office and will focus on organizing efforts in the Eastern Region.
Micah brings nearly two decades of experience working in the labor movement in and around New York. He most recently served on the staff of Local 700’s sister union, the Cinematographers Guild (Local 600), and previously held positions at SAG-AFTRA, SEIU 32BJ and the United Federation of Teachers. He joins the other team members: Preston Johnson, LA-based Organizer, and Rob Callahan, Director of Organizing.
“Organizing is the essential growth ingredient of any labor union,” said Alan Heim, ACE, President of the Guild. “We are thrilled to welcome Micah aboard and know that he will be essential in winning union contracts for hard-working post-production professionals in the Eastern Region.”
Members (and non-members) working non-union jobs in post-production can reach out to the Local 700 Organizing Department to talk about how to win Editors Guild contracts at non-union workplaces and help lift standards of employment in our industry. Email the team at organizing@editorsguild.com.
